Cassioli Polska was awarded the Diamentów Forbesa, an important recognition that Forbes and ING Groep assigned to some companies in Lodz.

The award received by the Managing Director of Cassioli Polska, Mario Roghi, was presented by Robert Olesiński, Regional Director for Corporate Affairs of the Poznań Region, who congratulated the entrepreneurs on the competitiveness and international vocation of these companies.

Cassioli Polska has distinguished itself as one of the small-medium enterprises of the Lodz voivodeship which obtained revenue up to 50 million PLN, such that the region ranks sixth in Poland in terms of gross domestic product generated.

Once again a very important recognition which underlines the solidity and growth of the Cassioli Group even beyond national borders.

The new warehouse for Cosentino, leader for design surfaces, has been installed in Cantoria

Cassioli crosses once again national borders with the project realized in Spain for Cosentino Group. The Spanish multinational company, which produces and distributes innovative and sustainable surfaces for the world of design and architecture, turned to Cassioli to fully automate the logistics of the Silestone® and DEKTON® systems.

The project, in addition to the automatic warehouse, included the creation of an automatic system dedicated to the collection of the slabs from the production lines, their transport and the integrated management of the distribution center with ERP / SAP of Cosentino, which also managed the planning and preparation of loads before shipment.

The customer requested that the automated warehouse for the storage of finished products be divided into 6 independent parts, each equipped with a stacker crane, in order to guarantee greater flexibility in the event of damage or partial blocking of the system; the handling area had to be composed of 4 independent areas with sawhorses for the slabs.

The project was designed from the outset as a modular installation: there were built 2 blocks with 3 stacker cranes each and 4 automatic preparation points for slabs. Cosentino requested to treat each slab in a unique way, in order to have a total traceability of each of them and of the information contained within them (barcode), i.e. production, storage and shipping parameters.

After a careful analysis of Cosentino’s needs, Cassioli designed an automated warehouse 4,500 square meters wide and 32 meters high, with a capacity of 11,500 packages, equipped with 9 stacker cranes (load capacity up to 3,500 kg). Entrances and exits to the warehouse can be carried out on two levels, while the preparation of orders takes place at level 0, through automatic systems specially designed for Cosentino processes.

The packages arrive from the production lines through automatic conveyors and SLS shuttles, then they are directed to a shape and data control system (automatic reading of all the bar codes), which verifies their suitability.

If the system detects that the package is correct in all its parameters, it continues the path, otherwise it is rejected and submitted to the control of the Cassioli software. Once the parcel reaches the front of the warehouse, it is directed to a specific warehouse through SLS system (Shuttle Loop System) to the entry position, where it is picked up by the stacker crane designated by the Cassioli WMS software.

When a package is required for the preparation of a specific order, it is picked up by the stacker crane in the warehouse and then placed in the special order preparation area by means of shuttles, to give greater flexibility and ensure that all packages can be addressed to any preparation area.

The system takes the slabs one by one following the specific sequence requested in the loading order; in the event that there are slabs in excess, the load returns to the warehouse and the slabs are grouped in a new load, always automatically.

Once ready, the load is taken to an automatic strapping station and then made available to the LGV (Laser Guided Vehicles) to be placed in a temporary buffer or to be loaded directly onto the truck, through the automatic loading system.

Besides the warehouse, Cassioli has created a handling system for Cosentino consisting of chain conveyors, roller conveyors and specific tilting devices for slabs. The handling system is integrated with elevators for slabs and packs and with special manipulators for slab preparation, that handle one slab at a time.

Every single slab is coded and traced thanks to a special system that allows to record specific data and dimensions. The entire Cosentino distribution center is managed by ERP / SAP software, perfectly integrated with the Cassioli management software that manages all devices and machinery for a complete warehouse automation.

Thanks to the synergy developed between the Cosentino designers and the Cassioli experts, the new Cosentino warehouse has recorded a significant increase in storage capacity and complete traceability of all the materials handled, thanks to the perfect integration between the Cassioli management system and the software of the customer. Furthermore, it is important to point out that it was met the technological challenge of sending the slabs to the customers in the same conditions as before the automation.

Cassioli stands out as a partner of one of the largest retail and housewares chains.

Leroy Merlin, a chain store specialized in building materials and DIY products, arrived in Brazil 23 years ago with the aim of building, renovating, decorating and transforming Brazilian homes, has chosen Cassioli for the creation of an innovative automatic system at its headquarters in Cajamar, San Paulo. The French multinational corporation wanted to increase the productivity and flexibility of one of its main distribution centers in Brazil.

Leroy Merlin has approved an investment of R$ 60 million to automate the distribution center in Cajamar (SP), starting the implementation process of the plant to support online sales, especially following the growth of the latter during the Covid pandemic -19, which in 2021 accounted for 8% of the company’s revenue.

Given the complexity of the operation of B2C direct sales of heavy products, Leroy Merlin deemed it necessary to evolve the traditional operating model, in order to guarantee ergonomics, productivity, team stability and corporate scalability.

Thus, as part of its growth strategy, the Company has decided to implement an innovative automation solution in the Cajamar distribution center that will allow even the heaviest products to be handled with greater agility. The project aims to reduce pallet handling times, perform separation by batch picking and ensure efficient, high-density storage according to the material rotation curve. Ergonomic picking stations will also be designed, with box sorting  assisted by equipment and handling structures that will guarantee a safe process, while maintaining the integrity of the material and the operator.

Cassioli will therefore provide a complete solution, aimed at ensuring maximum efficiency of the entire logistics system, consisting of 6 stacker cranes with a load capacity of 2 tons each and double-depth pallet racks, with a capacity of more than 19,000 pallets. The handling of the products inside the warehouse will be guaranteed by roller and chain conveyors and the picking bays will be equipped with pantograph tables, anti-tipping devices and zero gravity manipulators. The system will also be equipped with devices for the automatic stacking and unstacking of empty pallets, in addition to the use of systems for the automatic slave pallet feeding at the entrance of the plant and automatic feeding of delivery pallets towards the stations for order preparation .

Once again Cassioli distinguishes itself as a supplier of large international companies, capable of responding quickly and efficiently to the needs of many and different manufcturers. The customization of our services and the possibility of having a diversified but specialized production allows Cassioli to offer the customer the most effective solution based on his specific needs, obtaining a streamlining of procedures and considerable savings in terms of time and costs.

Cassioli continues its advance as one of the main suppliers of automated systems for airport intralogistics.

After the recent news of the supply of numerous ATRS systems for the main Spanish airports, our company is awarded the tender for the installation of 8 new Fast2Checks at Bologna’s Guglielmo Marconi Airport.

Together with Smiths Detection, world leader in the production of security screening technologies, Cassioli will supply the new lines for the control of hand baggage for the Bologna Airport.

The installation will include the new C3 type X-Ray machines, with three-dimensional scanning technology, certified according to the “C3” regulations. This particular X-ray unit, already successfully installed at Fiumicino Airport, is a big step forward compared to traditional control systems, as it allows passengers to carry out the usual inspection procedures without having to remove anything from their hand luggage.

This means that passengers will no longer have to remove liquids, PCs, mobile phones and tablets from hand luggage and deposit everything that is usually considered as “unsuitable” in the trays, but will simply leave everything inside their bags: it will be the special Smiths Detection X-ray machine to inspect these objects directly inside the hand luggage, thanks to the innovative tomographic technology.

All this will lead to speeding up the control operations for passengers and therefore to a substantial streamlining of procedures, due to the considerable time savings achieved by avoiding removing the objects first and repositioning them inside the bags at the end of the inspection.

Thanks to its automated systems, Cassioli once again contributes to increasing security within the main Italian airports, thanks to the more effective threat detection capability of these new devices.

After numerous projects carried out by our company in the Iberian Peninsula, Cassioli returns as winner in Spain by winning the construction of the new ATRS systems of the most important Spanish airports.
In fact, Cassioli won the tender with the Spanish giant Telefónica for the construction of 95 Fast2Check in the airports of Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Alicante, Pamplona, Vigo and Girona.
Seven airports joining Fast2Check ATRS (Automatic Tray Return System) and the numerous BHS baggage handling and delivery systems that have been built in the past for these and many other Spanish airports, including Barcelona, Seville and Santiago.

Cassioli wishes you a Merry Christmas
and a peaceful and prosperous New Year!
We hope your holidays will be filled
with joy and happyness.
