EMS monorail transfer system for green-tire handling

The EMS is a monorail transfer system for handling green tires in tire production plants, running along an overhead rail. The EMS is usually used to ensure a continuous flow of green tires from the TBM (Tire Building Machine) to a buffer and from the buffer to the curing presses.
The EMS shuttles operate above the machines, leaving the floor area free: this allows operators and maintenance personnel to safely access the presses.
The new special aluminium rail concept allows the Cassioli EMS to guarantee high performance while maintaining excellent reliability and stability of the entire system. The shuttle can handle various tire sizes and interface with different types of presses completely automatically.

The green-tire pick-up and deposit phase on the production line requires upward and downward movement of the gripper achieved by 4 cables. The excellent flexibility of the shuttle allows the tire to be unloaded at different heights, thus being able to feed a full range of press loading devices (revolving unit, tilting unit, conveyors, etc.).
The rail is supported by special gantries designed and sized to allow access for forklifts for mould-change operations.
Using a motorised divert, the shuttle can be moved to a special maintenance area, allowing the operator to work without interrupting and hindering operation of the entire system.

The safety devices installed on the shuttle ensure automatic operations with high levels of safety, both for operators and the machinery.
