SACMICASSIOLI INTRALOGISTICS, A GLOBAL SOLUTION FOR THE AUTOMATION OF PLANT LOGISTICS IN THE CERAMICS SECTOR

The NewCo for intralogistics brings together Sacmi’s experience in the main sectors of application and Cassioli’s expertise in industrial handling and automation. The company will be based in Imola, to serve the Ceramics and Renewable Energy sectors

Intralogistics lies at the heart of factory processes as a cornerstone for the efficient management of production flows. The solution is SacmiCassioli Intralogistics, the joint venture between Sacmi and Cassioli that aims to be a global supplier of solutions for the automation of plant logistics.

The company will have its own headquarters in Imola, and will be responsible for the design and supply of complete solutions for the management, control and optimisation of flows of materials and data within the factory.

SacmiCassioli Intralogistics arises from the expertise and experience of two Italian industrial groups that are market leaders in their respective fields, and is part of a global approach. The added value of the proposal is the bringing together of production and intralogistics skills in a single digitised process.

The offer integrates software management (WMS, Warehouse Management System, and WCS, Warehouse Control System) with the management and control of mechanical equipment and movement – stacker cranes, conveyors, picking islands, automatic palletizers, LGVs – and thus with the supervision of production data. Target areas include a range of SACMI’s core businesses, from tiles and bathroom fixtures right up to advanced materials in the electric vehicles and renewable energy sectors.

“Sacmi draws on its in-depth knowledge of the production process in its core sectors”, the president of SACMI, Paolo Mongardi, points out. “With Cassioli, a professional in handling and already a well-known operator in tyres, airports and other sectors, we complete the offer at a key phase as a comprehensive supplier of systems, offering additional value to our customers in terms of efficiency and effectiveness in the management of production flows”.

“Partnership with an important company like Sacmi in this new adventure is an honour and a privilege for us, as well as a great challenge for our entire group” – said Carlo Cassioli, CEO of Cassioli srl. “We’re sure that our know-how in the intralogistics sector and the experience consolidated through our Ceramics Intralogistic Division will be the perfect complement to SACMI’s expertise”.

The new venture will have a dedicated technical and commercial structure, from sales to engineering, supply chain management to production, supported by the know-how and experience of both partners.
