The postal operator Poczta Polska has chosen Cassioli for the supply of special carousels for parcels and large objects

In order to optimize logistics processes and increase its services, Poczta Polska has decided to invest in Cassioli automatic systems to improve its offer and thus adapt the processes to customer expectations. The Polish postal operator asked Cassioli Polska to design a ring-shaped conveyor system, very similar in design to that of airport baggage carousels, to support the sorting of oversized shipments. The device will guarantee a much more efficient management, reaching up to 20,000 shipments per day. It is a proven solution that has been operating successfully since last year in Komorniki, near Poznań, and in Zabrze, enabling faster and more efficient shipment processing.

Poczta Polska therefore continues to invest in the automation of logistics processes, according to the development strategy adopted on the CEP market (Couriers, Express and Parcels): the company will in fact allocate approximately PLN 2.5 million for this purpose.

Automation of Poczta Polska is one of the key activities included in the company’s strategy for the three-year period 2021-2023. The investments represent a response to the development of the e-commerce sector, which has significantly increased its share in the market. The upgrades will have a positive impact on the efficiency of handling the growing volume of parcels; A new sorting system has already been installed at the Niepołomice plant and by the end of February these devices will also be installed in Pruszcz Gdański, Wroclaw and Warsaw.

Cassioli once again stands out as a provider of cutting-edge automation solutions, capable of responding to the needs of the most diverse market sectors. Thanks to the internal know-how acquired in over 70 years of activity and the development of patented solutions, Cassioli develops modern and highly efficient technologies, allowing the customer to obtain customized and highly performing systems.

Tire Technology Expo 2022, 18-20 May 2022, Hannover- Germany

After one year break due to Covid-19 pandemic, the most important European tire technology exhibition is back. Cassioli is once again one of the exhibitors represented by its “Tire Division“, the company division specialized in handling and storage systems for tires, green tires and raw materials.

In fact, Cassioli confirms itself once again as a partner of the main tire manufacturers thanks to cutting-edge automation solutions, carefully designed and implemented with the best technologies, so to guarantee the best result from tire processing, accelerating production and delivery times and preserving the product quality at all stages.

At the Tire Technology Expo Cassioli will present a new storage system, the Multilevel Shuttle, made up of individual mini stacker cranes with reduced dimensions, but capable of achieving higher performance than traditional stacker cranes for material storage / recovery.

Come and find out more about the new Multilevel Shuttle Cassioli at Tire Technology! We look forward to seeing you in Hanover, from 18 to 20 May 2022, booth 9062, Deutsche Messe Messegelände.

Cassioli stands out as a partner of one of the largest retail and housewares chains.

Leroy Merlin, a chain store specialized in building materials and DIY products, arrived in Brazil 23 years ago with the aim of building, renovating, decorating and transforming Brazilian homes, has chosen Cassioli for the creation of an innovative automatic system at its headquarters in Cajamar, San Paulo. The French multinational corporation wanted to increase the productivity and flexibility of one of its main distribution centers in Brazil.

Leroy Merlin has approved an investment of R$ 60 million to automate the distribution center in Cajamar (SP), starting the implementation process of the plant to support online sales, especially following the growth of the latter during the Covid pandemic -19, which in 2021 accounted for 8% of the company’s revenue.

Given the complexity of the operation of B2C direct sales of heavy products, Leroy Merlin deemed it necessary to evolve the traditional operating model, in order to guarantee ergonomics, productivity, team stability and corporate scalability.

Thus, as part of its growth strategy, the Company has decided to implement an innovative automation solution in the Cajamar distribution center that will allow even the heaviest products to be handled with greater agility. The project aims to reduce pallet handling times, perform separation by batch picking and ensure efficient, high-density storage according to the material rotation curve. Ergonomic picking stations will also be designed, with box sorting  assisted by equipment and handling structures that will guarantee a safe process, while maintaining the integrity of the material and the operator.

Cassioli will therefore provide a complete solution, aimed at ensuring maximum efficiency of the entire logistics system, consisting of 6 stacker cranes with a load capacity of 2 tons each and double-depth pallet racks, with a capacity of more than 19,000 pallets. The handling of the products inside the warehouse will be guaranteed by roller and chain conveyors and the picking bays will be equipped with pantograph tables, anti-tipping devices and zero gravity manipulators. The system will also be equipped with devices for the automatic stacking and unstacking of empty pallets, in addition to the use of systems for the automatic slave pallet feeding at the entrance of the plant and automatic feeding of delivery pallets towards the stations for order preparation .

Once again Cassioli distinguishes itself as a supplier of large international companies, capable of responding quickly and efficiently to the needs of many and different manufcturers. The customization of our services and the possibility of having a diversified but specialized production allows Cassioli to offer the customer the most effective solution based on his specific needs, obtaining a streamlining of procedures and considerable savings in terms of time and costs.

An innovative automatic system for the handling and storage of raw materials has been installed at the Empoli production site

Cassioli realized the new automated warehouse of Sammontana, one of the most important Italian food companies, specialized in the production of ice cream and frozen croissants. The Italian company, founded in Empoli in 1946, where it is still based, holds 20% of the Italian industrial ice cream market and about 40% of the frozen croissant market.

For its main office, Sammontana turned to Cassioli for the construction of an automated warehouse for raw materials within a new rhomboid-shaped building area. The real challenge for our company was to design an automated warehouse making the most of the available space, difficult to manage because of the peculiar shape.

Thanks to the acquired know-how and the investment on the research of increasingly advanced, sustainable and modular technologies, over the years Cassioli has in fact become one of the leading companies in industrial automation for Food & Beverage, with customized solutions for the storage and the handling of products and semi-finished products, capable of perfectly adapting to any type of environment.

After a careful analysis of Sammontana needs, Cassioli designed a storage system consisting of 4 double-depth stacker cranes and a special ICRANE stacker crane with ISAT pallet shuttle, which made possible to make the most of the usable space thanks to the multi-depth storage of pallets.

In addition to the automated warehouse, Cassioli has developed an efficient handling system, consisting of automatic conveyors, RGV – Rail Guided Vehicles – and special elevators that have allowed to move the pallets on different levels of the warehouse. The RGVs, which move within a closed circuit, are used with a dual function: on the one hand they allow to fill the warehouse, at the entrance, and on the other hand, to pick up the pallet, at the exit. Not just automation and storage systems.

Cassioli has also supplied Sammontana with an innovative fire-fighting system with related tank and water reserve that feeds it: specifically, a sprinkler system with internal and external hydrant network, pumping station and smoke detection systems, in accordance with the current regulations.

The partnership with Cassioli has therefore allowed Sammontana to increase storage capacity by 100%, thanks to the full exploitation of the new available area, as well as to speed up the production process and significantly reduce the risk of operational accidents due to the use of automated machinery working in full autonomy. It is also important to emphasize that all the systems installed fully meet the prerequisites of “Industry 4.0.” (control via PLC; interconnection to factory IT systems; integration with the factory logistic system; simple and intuitive man-machine interface; compliance with the latest standards in terms of safety, maintenance, service and remote control).
