The award was granted to Pirelli’s 9 best suppliers, chosen out of over 10,000 companies
A big satisfaction for Cassioli, an Italian company the dedicated “Tire” division of which has won the prestigious Pirelli Supplier Award 2019.
Cassioli is one of 9 companies chosen out of Pirelli’s over 10,000 suppliers who distinguished themselves by their capacity for making the supply chain even more sustainable and excellent in terms of quality, contributing to make Pirelli’s products even more High Value, in line with the Group strategy.
The Cassioli Group, born in Italy in 1943 and active in the automation business for over 45 years, is today one of the most important partners for the key world tire producers. Specialised in providing plant solutions for industrial movement and automation, the Group has 4 internal divisions: Intralogistics Division, Manufacturing Division, Tire Division and Airport Division.
In the last 10 years, the TIRE sector has played the biggest role in Cassioli’s production line: experience built up over time and planning to measure have made it possible to identify the best solutions, with the right compromise between needs and operating costs. Producing high quality tires requires intelligent management of internal logistics, attention to quality standards of the product and competitive timing. Cassioli’s systems include many services, including layout design, system check-up, personnel training and guaranteed after-sale service. Automation of the handling system from TBMs to automatic finished product storage allows the best use of all the machines in the system, cutting down interruptions or production stops.
Cassioli provides complete solutions for the TIRE sector, with technologically advanced systems provided with all the devices needed to make the workflow quick and timely. Increasing the flow of material to the presses is in fact the key to maximising production and saving time, while guaranteeing a safe and risk-free workplace for operators; constant availability of tires for the curing phase allows making maximum use of the presses, quantifiable as a substantial production increase.
Automatic warehouses for storing raw materials, semi-finished and finished products, handling systems such as conveyors, AGV, EMS and SLS to move materials are only some of the products Cassioli makes available to manufacturers. Software allows total control over materials and processes, providing in real time the data needed for production and for managing stock. This allows one to get the maximum return on tire processing, speeding up production and delivery time while preserving a high product quality level throughout each process phase.
Technological innovation, research, reliability, ease of maintenance and flexibility are the main strong points leading to choosing a Cassioli system.
It was this attention to technological innovation and to process quality which led to Cassioli being recognised as one of the excellences chosen by Pirelli as winners of the Supplier Award 2019.
“It is an honour for us to take part in Pirelli’s success in the tire business, and we are proud of this important recognition, which honours us and drives us ahead to invest in research and innovation and to make sure our systems are increasingly performing”, said Carlo Cassioli, CEO of the Cassioli Group. “This is an award we want to share with our whole company: with the marketing staff, the technical offices and with the production staff since, each with their own work, they have all contributed to achieving such important results”.
The award was given by the General Manager Operations, Andrea Casaluci, and by the Chief Procurement Officer, Pierluigi de Cancellis, who stated that “Pirelli is following a business model focused on Global High Value. To achieve these goals one must therefore undertake a path together with partners who are able to guarantee not only an excellent and always innovative service, but also share values such as attention to people, to the environment, to the customer and to brand value. This is why we decided to reward companies which shared these aspects with Pirelli and which have become true Pirelli partners and not just suppliers of goods or services”.
Cassioli, which began working with Pirelli in 1995 and has been present for over 4 years in many of their plants with different handling systems, has been rewarded for the “Global Presence” and “Innovation” criteria.
An important achievement for this Italian company which, with 3 different production plants in Italy, Poland and Brazil, offices and marketing partners around the world, can guarantee planning tailored for the customer, thanks to completely in-house know-how which can adapt any solution to the needs of the final customer.
