The configuration of every CASSIOLI handling system is customized for specific customer needs. The characteristics of the flow of material and the type of product handled influence the required system efficiency in terms of speed, acceleration, capacity, uni- or bi-directional operation, possibility of intermediate accumulation, possibility of bypassing workstations, etc.

Although it is impossible to list the countless situations where handling systems may be used, it is possible to enumerate the most common:

Constant speed lines. Traditional roller, tape, chain, belt or slat conveyor for continuous supply to workstations.

Lines with possibility of intermediate accumulation. Handling systems for situations where an intermediate accumulation between workstations is indispensable. Accumulating roller or chain conveyors with independent, motorized sections can separate the operating speed of the stations and of the handling system.

Serving systems. A self-driven cart on rails performs a “shuttle” service to connect adjacent stations to the same handling line. This is the typical situation with a shuttle which travels back and forth and picks up or stores load units from/in automated warehouses.

Comb delivery. By means of a variety of automatic identification devices (laser, video cameras, radio waves), the system allocates objects from the sorting conveyor (tape, slat, roller) to the correct shipment bay. Sorting is made possible by special sorting devices (pushers, chain transferors, switch levers, etc.).

Lines for specific devices. CASSIOLI guarantees full integration of its material handling systems with automated or semi-automated workstations as regards labeling, weighing or automatic identification systems, labelers, packagers, tapers, palletizers, depalletizers, robots, screwdrivers, drilling machines, etc. For more information, visit our specific section: “ASSEMBLY LINES”.
