Handling Systems

The configuration of every CASSIOLI's handling system is customized for the specific client. The characteristics of material flows and typology of handled objects impose constraints on the required functional performances in terms of speed, acceleration, capacity, uni- or bidirectional operation, possibility of intermediate accumulations, possibility of bypassing operational stations and so on.

Although it is impossible to list all the countless situations where handling systems can be employed, it is possible to enumerate the most common of them:

Constant speed lines. Traditional roller, tape, chain, belt, slar conveyors for continuous supply to operational stations.

Lines with possibility of intermediate accumulation. Handling system for situations where it is indispensable to have an intermediate accumulation. Accumulating roller conveyors or chain conveyors with independent, motorized sections are capable of separating stations' operating speed from that of the handling system.

Serving Systems. A self-driven cart on rails performs a "shuttle" service to connect adjacent stations to the same handling line. This is the typical situation of a shuttle which, by travelling back and forth, picks up or stores load units from/to automated warehouses.

Comb Delivery. By means of many different automatic identification devices (laser, video camera, radio), the system allocates into shipment bays objects from the sorting conveyor (tape, slar, roller or tape operated). The sorting is made possible by special sorting devices (pushers, chain transferers, switch levers and so on).

Lines for specific devices. CASSIOLI warrants full integration of its material handling systems with automated or semi-automated operational stations in relation to labeling, weighting or automatic identification systems, packagers, tapers, palletizers, depalletizers, robots, screwdrivers, drilling machines and so on.
