Cartesio System

The CARTESIO automated warehouse for plastic containers represents high density storage with limited surface space requirements. The system is dedicated to the storage of small objects with a significant turnover. The warehouse is composed of shelves, which may even be double depth to double system capacity, arranged in columns. The use of multiple storage columns means that CARTESIO is a modular system that can be customized for optimum use of the available space.

The wide range of containers that may be used, combined with the system’s modular structure, make CARTESIO the intensive warehouse system suited to almost any industrial setting, such as, for example, the mechanical, pharmaceutical and electrical sectors, or in the field of hydraulic, pneumatic or fashion accessories, etc.

The heart of the CARTESIO warehouse is an automated container retrieval system that can move diagonally through the shelving structure to censure minimum retrieval time. Simultaneous vertical and horizontal movements translate into a high picking speed, capable of fulling orders transmitted by different picking points. The warehouse is completely closed-in and therefore not accessible to operators: no risk of accidents to personnel, less damage to materials, zero risk of illicit removal of goods and maximum noise reduction.

Focus on
The lines serving automated warehouses have always been particularly important: if the number of machines is not adequate to warehousing needs, intensive storage benefits are defeated, creating actual process “bottleneck” situations.
