Flows Management

The design of every CASSIOLI line is based on the study of the flow of the collecting piece and the flow of materials supplied to every assembly station (single components or kit). Every plant engineering solution results from a careful analysis of the above flows, in terms of physical location (by enumerating in/out points and related handling system), in terms of temporal distribution imposed by the manufacturing schedule and planned supplies to each station.

By clearly understanding the flow of collecting pieces, components and/or serving kits for the stations, the overall line configuration can be defined, which has in turn important consequences over the handling system operation. As an example, the need to separate workflows among different stations would impose using inter-operating buffers, hence determining specific functional requirements for the handling system.

As for supplies in stock for every workstation, CASSIOLI's systems are predisposed to manage single components as well as assembly kits. Based on the products' physical characteristics, on materials' supply modality and the productivity requested by the system, the best serving technique for the situation at hand is chosen. Single components or assembly kits can follow the collecting piece in appropriate multicomponents containers, or come together synchronously (manually or automatically) in the workstations. CASSIOLI will advise, putting its competence at your disposal, the best supplying modality for the stations, based on push or pull criteria. In the first case, the supply is done at a fixed frequency, anticipating workstation requirements. In the second case, on the contrary, the station requires supplies when stock level goes below a certain value. The whole supplying process is managed by CASSIOLI's control software for manufacturing lines.
