Battistella Spa has chosen F.A.ST. too
Not even CASSIOLI at the beginning had guessed F.A.ST. automated warehouse would have been such a commercial success. In the furniture manufacturing sector, STOSA had already appreciated our new storage system: The possibility to completely separate manufacturing policies from storage and customer order processing criteria, had led to a considerable increase in service quality in terms of lead time cutoff. Since the F.A.ST. system autonomously provides transformation of materials flow, coming from production (ordered by typology), to a flow of products ready for shipment (ordered by job order), STOSA largely reduced costs associated to traditional manual picking activities. Besides that, the possibility to organize production without worrying about warehouse's inflow products sequence, led to ulterior benefits in terms of reduced expenses.
At BATTISTELLA, F.A.ST. deployment is almost complete. The new system will be capable of receiving from production random sequences of almost 8000 packages a day. The 6 high-performance stacker cranes (up to 6m/s) allocate goods into the bays following customer-related aggregation criteria. When the Customer Service issues a shipment order, the system provides for content picking of the entire customer bay and transfer to the shipment area, up to trucks loading. In other words, human intervention ends soon after the manufacturing process, to reinitiate only at the moment when it is necessary to load goods into trucks... Can you imagine the benefits provided by such an entirely automated system, in terms of orders completeness ad accuracy, costs reduction and protection of goods against possible damage?
